ASUO Senate plans to meet during the middle of dead week
Despite time being a precious commodity during the last few days of the term, the ASUO Senate will meet on Wednesday to complete unfinished projects, like benchmarks, before winter break.
“The benchmarks typically need to be discussed and potentially approved prior to the start of budget season in Winter Term,” ASUO Vice President Nick McCain said. “Unfortunately, we have not had an opportunity to discuss these prior to this week.”
These memos act as recommendations to various budgets within the Executive, Department Finance Committee, Programs Finance Committee, Athletics and Contracts Finance Committee and the EMU Board.
Senate typically does not meet during dead week; nevertheless, Wednesday’s meeting is currently scheduled to last for three hours but will likely go late into the night.
“Given that both of my finals are scheduled on Monday next week, I would say the primary thing I am sacrificing is my time,” McCain said.
