Health: World's Fittest Women

Last month, Men’s Health deemed U.S. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps world’s fittest man. CNN Health presented its list last week of the world’s fittest women of the year, ranging from athletes to actresses and fitness personalities.

Plenty of U.S. Olympians from the 2012 Summer Games made the top ten list and covered a number of events, such as the gold-winning U.S. Gymnastics Team consisting of Jordyn Wieber, Gabrielle Douglas, Kyla Ross and McKayla Maroney.

Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor also made the list. These two won gold in beach volleyball for a third straight Olympics, after losing only one set.

Other athletes include reigning Ironman winners Annie Thorisdottir and Leanda Cave, Jessica Ennis in track and field, U.S. swimmer Dara Torres, tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams and weightlifter Wang Mingjuan of China.

The television and film actresses to make the list were fitness trainer Jillian Michaels and Jessica Biel who starred in the movie remake of “Total Recall.”
