Five of the best restaurants across the street from campus

1. Caspian Mediterranean Restaurant

In the event hunger strikes, Caspian is the go-to place for a great deal and huge selection. Advertised as specializing in Mediterranean food, Caspian carries specialties like lamb and chicken gyros, kabobs and tabouli salad. However, if middle eastern cuisine isn’t your thing, they’ve got everything from breakfast omelets and french toast, to a double cheeseburger special that’s one of the best deals around.

2. Cafe Sienna

In case you’re in the mood for breakfast — all day, that is — Cafe Sienna offers Mexican, French and American dishes. Their burritos are huge and a staple for hungry students, while their crepes come in a wide variety of flavors fit for any taste buds. They also serve pancakes and bagel sandwiches, if that’s more your thing.

3. Sy’s New York Pizza

Simple, New York-style pizza is just around the corner at Sy’s Pizza. With five ready-made types of pizzas (Hawaiian, Meat Lovers, Veggie) they also offer twelve separate toppings to placate palates of any kind.

4. Barry’s Expresso and Bakery

More along the lines of a sandwich shop, Barry’s has a traditional Jewish twist. Featuring challah, matzo ball soup, rugelach and more, they specialize in bringing a Jewish kitchen to students. They also do a variety of coffee house drinks, and they have the best prices in town.

5. Sweet Basil

For Thai food lovers everywhere, this smaller version of the downtown Eugene restaurant gives students a wide selection of specialties. Although the space is small, they provide fast service of delicious food at a reasonable price.
