Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli punched in the ball from one yard out in the second overtime, beating Arizona 44-41 and placing the Ducks (9-2, 7-1 Pacific-10 Conference) in firm control of their Rose Bowl destiny.

Down 31-24 in the fourth quarter, with Arizona students lined up on the sidelines anticipating a rush of the field, Masoli hit tight end Ed Dickson for a six-yard touchdown catch to force overtime. The first overtime period resulted in touchdowns and PATs for each team, but Oregon held Arizona to one yard in the second overtime. Wildcats kicker Alex Zendejas made the 41-yard attempt to force the Ducks to score, and Masoli did just that.

The Ducks were up 14-0 off two early scores before the Wildcats stormed back, accounting for 24 unanswered points after Arizona’s Nick Foles hit wide receiver William Wright for a five-yard touchdown pass with 13:57 remaining in the fourth quarter.

In a battle between two of the conference’s top offenses, Oregon narrowly edged Arizona with 459 yards to the Wildcats’ 440. Masoli completed 26 of 46 passes for 284 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, while Foles completed 30 of 46 passes for 314 yards, four touchdowns and an interception that set up Oregon’s game-tying drive in the fourth quarter.

I am also a UofA student, i was also at the game, and that was probably one of the best football games I think I have ever been to. both teams played great, and it was a hard fought win for Oregon. gameplay aside, I was embarrassed y the actions of the fans, especially with the water bottle incident involving your cheerleader (hopefully she is ok). That behavior is unacceptable and inexcusable, and I was ashamed to consider myself an Arizona fan. Hopefully you understand that the actions of few do not (and should not) represent the actions of many. I have heard numerous comments calling Arizona fans class-less, or "dumb zonazoo hicks". I do not believe this is the case, yes, some fans acted very poor, some students were over-eager and got on the field, but what should be remembered is a fantastic game, not the actions of several unruly fans. Best of luck to you ducks in the Rose bowl and with the Civil War.

Good luck in the Rose bowl and with the Civil war. (beat ohio state!)

I am a UofA Student who attended the game and it was a great one! I want to apologize to all fans and members of the Oregon football team and staff for the behavior that some of these students portrayed. It makes me not proud of being a wildcat fan right now. Oregon did a great job! I hope you guys keep staying humble. Cant wait to watch the PAC-10 beat Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
