APS shuttling to Stadium Park, ASUO decidesSenate allocates nearly $6,000 of over-realized funds to APS for providing shuttles to Stadium Park Apartmentsby Thomas MartinezTHE MEETING: The ASUO met Wednesday night to discuss a $5,779 proposal from Assault Prevention Service, to hear the ASUO Executive update and to vote in new Senate officers. THE DECISION: The Senate approved the $5,779 request from APS. The bulk of the request, which came out of the over-realized fund, pays for two new dispatchers to drive vans to Stadium Park Apartments at a more regular interval. |
Oregon natives subject of History Museum seriesTonight is the first lecture in a three part series highlighting the history of peoples in Oregonby Hannah HoffmanA series of free lectures entitled "The First Oregonians: New Insight from the Field" at the University Museum of Natural and Cultural History will discuss new archeological findings relating to the first peoples of Oregon. The lectures will cover archeological findings that span all of Oregon, from the coast to the high desert. |

Compostable coffee cups require student participationby Brenna HouckLast spring, campus coffee houses made a switch to compostable coffee cups with the help of the Erb Memorial Union Food Service, the Campus Recycling Program, and Allann Bros Coffee as an effort to further reduce the University's waste. Since their introduction to the new campus food service, students have slowly begun to recognize and take part in the program, but Food Services employees say students need to take more notice of the special compost bins in order for the program to be successful. |
