Upcoming shows: Yo-Yo Ma - Sept. 30 at 8 p.m.; The Kingston Trio & the Brothers Four Golden Anniversary Tour - Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Founded in 1982, the Hult Center put Eugene on the international arts map. A facility brought to the community by voters, the Hult Center hosts about 700 events and activities a year, and is home to seven local professional arts companies. The venue boasts astounding architecture and acoustics, featuring a 2,500 seat concert hall, a theater and an art gallery. With an emphasis on tradition and quality, this is Eugene's venue for classical performance arts and family events.

WOW Hall

Upcoming shows: Janis Ian - Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., $23 @ door; Andre Nickatina - Oct. 10 at 9 p.m.; $25 @ door

The historic Woodmen of the World dance hall claims to have been "fighting to save rock-and-roll since the '70s." WOW Hall is the number one stop for indie rock bands passing through Eugene, and the WOW gallery is currently featuring the works of local artist Johnny Correa.

Cuthbert Amphitheatre
All ages
Upcoming shows: Common & N.E.R.D. - Sept. 19 at 8 p.m., $35.00

Oregon is notorious for its beautiful outdoors and its relentless rain; the latter, unfortunately, limits shows at this awesome amphitheater to summertime. Near Autzen Stadium in Alton Baker Park, Eugeneans can enjoy loud music, beer gardens and great food.

Indigo District

Upcoming shows: Melissa Ferrick - Nov. 21 at 8 p.m.

The Indigo is easily one of Eugene's most hip and happening nightlife destinations. Guests are welcome to dance onstage or shoot pool and enjoy one-dollar-PBRs. The club hosts a variety of music from Hip-hop Tuesdays, to live rock-and-roll on Wednesdays and DJ Tekneek (voted as Eugene's best) on Thursdays. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

John Henry's
21 and older
Upcoming shows: The Wedding Present - Sept. 23 at 9:00 p.m., $12 @ door

Be sure to stop by John Henry's on Thursdays for '80s night and have a taste of Eugene's own Ninkasi Spank Dog on tap. Founded by local musicians who wanted to give Eugene's basement music scene a permanent location, John Henry's is open from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Also enjoy free pool until 10 p.m. and, of course, the original "Ms. Pac-Man" video game.
