Four Oregon students representing three nations in the Olympics prepare themselves as competition commences

The Olympic experience has already started for two of the University's four Olympic athletes in Beijing. Junior Jenn Salling, representing Canada in softball, and junior Micaela Cocks, a native New Zealander playing basketball, have helped their teams to victories in their first games.

After a month it's finally over. The Green Bay Packers traded quarterback Brett Favre to the New York Jets to join former Oregon Duck Kellen Clemens for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, which could turn into a first round pick if Favre takes 80 percent of the snaps and the Jets make the Super Bowl.

Jen Derby, the most decorated lacrosse player in Oregon lacrosse's four-year history who finished her senior season in March, has been hired as the program's newest assistant coach. Competing as Jen May during her collegiate career, Derby will join head coach Jen Larsen and assistant Robert Bray Jr.
