Twenty track and field Ducks honored for academics

Distinctions were given out by national coaches association

Twenty Oregon track and field athletes were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the last two days for their academic and athletic achievements.

Twelve women were honored on the USTFCCCA Division I Women's All-Academic team for the Ducks, including Pacific-10 Conference champions Keshia Baker and Nicole Blood.

The rest of the women's group, including their respective events, included Zoe Buckman, 800m; Lucy Cridland, discus; Brook Giuffre, 3,000m steeplechase; Kasey Harwood and Leah Worthen, 400m hurdles; Kalindra McFadden, heptathlon; Kara Meeuwsen, javelin; Zoe Nelson and Sara Pearson, 5,000m; and Liddell Steele, pole vault.

Eight men were so honored, too.

They are Alex Wolff, javelin; Chris Winter, 3,000m steeplechase; Joaquin Chapa, 1,500m; Jared Huske, 400 meter hurdles; Steven Johnson and Scott Penny, hammer; Mike McGrath, 800 meters; and Scott Wall (5,000 meters).
