Eugene-born Ninkasi Brewing Co. has grown into one of Oregon's largest breweries

Tuesday was bottling day at the Ninkasi brewery. And as the volunteer with the tattooed hands boxed up the freshly filled bottles of Tricerahops, Metallica's 'Master of Puppets' blasted through the gaping door into the Whiteaker neighborhood. After British occupants left Israel on May 14, 1948, it declared its autonomy, becoming the state of Israel known in the world today. Oregon Hillel is celebrating Israel's 60th anniversary with a week's worth of festivities known as "Israel @ 60." Sen. Billy Hatch was nominated to be the next Senate treasurer Wednesday night, following the resignation of former Sen. Kyle McKenzie a week ago. Hatch was the only senator nominated to fill the spot. His nomination will be voted on next week. Hatch has been performing the duties of treasurer in McKenzie's absence.
