Parking study: Garage could meet needsNeighborhood residents will appeal to city planners to have more say in building processby Ryan KnutsonThe University received its long-awaited traffic impact analysis Wednesday afternoon, and the report indicates that the University should be able to meet parking demands if it builds a 500-car underground garage. The study, which was completed by David Evans and Associates and JRH Transportation Engineering, says the underground lot will boost on and off-street parking available during game nights to 2,600 spots - 25 more than the 2,575 spots the firm says will be needed. |
University to team up with biotechnology companyIn briefby Eric FloripA licensing agreement announced Tuesday with biotechnology company MitoSciences Inc. could net the University as much as $4.6 million for its research during the next decade. The agreement, which centers on the University's development of antibodies related to disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and diabetes, will transfer distribution responsibilities of the antibodies to MitoSciences. |
