Grievance challenges election results
In addition to Monday's grievance, two results of the primary elections were overturned and require revote

Rose is requesting that the court allow another primary election with all executive candidates because the elections board did not count a $4,000 check from Sara Hamilton to pay for advertising in the Emerald as a campaign contribution.
The petition says Hamilton was working on behalf of the Oregon Action Team campaign because she appeared in campaign T-shirts and was identified by Senate President Athan Papailiou as an organizer of the campaign.
Sam Dotters-Katz, who won the race outright during the primary, has said Hamilton placed the ads without his consent and after he asked her in writing to stop.
Elections board orders revotes in Seats 13, 16
Business and science majors will have to vote again in Senate elections because of a decision made by the ASUO elections board on Sunday.
The board overturned the results of two positions that were won outright during primary voting. Races for Senate Seats 13 and 16, which represent business administration and science students, will be open again for a second vote.
According to an e-mail sent by the board Sunday night, "there were a number of Business and Environmental Science majors who were unable to vote."
"So, to ensure fairness for all Business and Science majors, who have expressed that their being unable to vote was an injustice," the e-mail read, "the Elections Board will need to open these two academic senate positions up again for Generals starting tomorrow morning."
Seat 16 had been won by Mikey Latteri of Rock the Yellow. He will again face Isaac Settles, an independent candidate.
Oregon Action Team's Nathan Perley won the race for Seat 13, and Adam Ryding from Rock the Yellow is now back in the race.
The e-mail from the board said the respective departments would be notified so the message to vote again would be passed on to students.

That's not true.
The elections board says:
"After investigating with the School of Business and Computing Services, it appears that voters who were in between Pre-Business and Business majors (which by themselves are both eligible to vote for Senate Seat 13), and in the process of getting their paperwork finalized for the Business major, were unable to vote for Seat 13 (it just did not show up on their DuckWeb ballot). What a shock, another grievance. Next Rock the yellow will file a grievance saying that their friends forgot to vote in the primary. If this grievance somehow goes through, I will file a grievance questioning the integrity of not only the UO election process but the ASUO itself. (Continued…)

Thank you for clearing up the confusing election results. Here is the text of the e-mail obtained by the Emerald. In the interest of transparency, it would behoove the elections board to include the Emerald in all correspondence regarding the election so all students can be informed of the proceedings.
