One-man wrecking crew ready for business

Junior college transfer LeGarrette Blount brings a physical rushing style to Oregon's already diverse offense

LeGarrette Blount certainly wasn't flying below the radar on his way to becoming a Duck. Blount (pronounced 'blunt'), a Florida native, was rated the top junior college running back in the country by Rivals.com after rushing for more than 1,000 yards in each of his two seasons at East Mississippi Community College.

How did the NFL combine and Oregon pro day go for you?
Geoff Schwartz:
It went really well. I did really good at the combine and then came back here for pro day and ran a 5.1 (second) 40 (yard dash) and improved on pretty much everything from the combine, so I was pretty stoked about that.

It had to hurt Ben Howland that Kansas coach Bill Self won his first NCAA title Monday night. If the rumors floating around were true, Self was coaching for his job eight days earlier in the Elite Eight against Davidson. If Kansas hadn't have won, he was going to be fired.

Bristow's 65 propels Ducks into sixth at Invitational

The No. 44-ranked Oregon women's golf team moved up three positions to finish in sixth place at the Indiana Invitational thanks to junior Cathryn Bristow's record final round of 65 yesterday. Bristow (76-74-65-215) broke the Oregon single round record by two strokes and finished fourth as an individual in the tournament.
