ASUO elections begin today: Are you ready to prove your loyalty to the Democratic process? Today kicks off my third ASUO election since arriving at the University, and I feel familiar enough with the process now to impart some wisdom to those of you not in the know.

Both Democratic presidential candidates have appeared in Eugene during the last 2 1/2 weeks, but the demographics to which they appeal in this college town are markedly different. Last month when Illinois Sen. Barack Obama rallied at McArthur Court, he filled the 10,000 seat arena to capacity.

Professors should be required to go through instructional training

As students here at the UO, we should be an integral part of feedback concerning the satisfaction of our education. Educational instructional training of our professors and GTFs is terrible! Professors often have subject knowledge but no training with which to convey their brilliance.
