Women win three but lose two in San Diego
Both Duck losses come against ranked teams, bringing the team's overall record to 13-9

The Oregon softball team ended its trip to San Diego with three wins, but left with two losses coming against ranked opponents.
Oregon flew south for the San Diego Classic last weekend. The Ducks earned wins against Harvard, 6-0, Cal State Bakersfield, 7-6, and James Madison, 7-2. Oregon dropped games to No. 22 Fresno State, 4-1, and No. 20 San Diego State, 3-2.
The Ducks, now 13-9, look ahead to their home opener on Wednesday against Portland State at Howe Field.
In the tournament finale, pitcher Alicia Cook allowed four hits, but San Diego State responded to an early 1-0 deficit with a three-run third inning. The Aztecs scored the runs on three hits and a walk with two of the runs involving close plays at the plate.
Cook's performance also included seven strikeouts and three walks over six complete innings.
Kayleen Hudson's home run brought Oregon within a run in the fourth inning. It was her third home run in three days.
Cortney Kivett boosted her hitting streak to nine games with a 1 for 4 afternoon. Sari-Jane Jenkins went 2 for 4.
Oregon held a 1-0 lead in the tournament opener, but Fresno State rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning.
It was an even pitching dual between Oregon's Melissa Rice and Fresno State's Morgan Melloh up until the final inning. Rice, who allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk, was up against Melloh, who allowed five hits and threw 12 strikeouts.
The Ducks' offense awoke in a 6-0 thumping of Harvard. Hudson and Neena Bryant each had two hits and two RBIs apiece. Rice and Cook worked together for the shutout. Rice earned the win with four no-hit innings and Cook came on to pitch the final three innings. Rice threw six strikeouts, while Cook had five.
Joanna Gail spurred Oregon's offense in the Ducks' 7-6 win against Cal State Bakersfield. The senior third baseman went 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double. Hudson also went deep with her home run in the second inning. Kivett was 3 for 4 with a stolen base.
Rice made it three straight Oregon wins with a two-hitter in the Ducks' 7-2 win against James Madison. She threw seven complete innings, striking out five and walking three. It marked her third win of the trip.
The junior pitcher had a no-hitter going until the fifth inning when James Madison's Meredith Felts connected for a base hit.
