An estimated 400 students will attend the University of Oregon free of charge next fall thanks to PathwayOregon. The new financial aid program picks up 12 terms of the remaining tuition costs for students admitted to the University as freshman who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant. PathwayOreogn students will have a mentor who will give them guidance on using services including tutoring, financial planning and the career center. Around 30 additional students with the greatest financial need and a GPA of 3.8 or better will also receive a housing bonus.

Increased funding for the Federal Pell Grant and the Oregon Opportunity Grant has made PathwayOregon financially possible. PathwayOregon will also seek private donations to support the program.
