The Maude Kerns Art Center is hosting a new exhibit of letterpress broadsides, a traditional art form that written work was once printed on, called "The Illustrated Word."

The exhibit, which runs until Feb. 8, will feature unique artwork coupled with literary elements made by modern printmakers.

The center will also host a lecture by printmaker Sandy Tillcock, owner of Lone Goose Press.

Tillcock will speak about the art of letterpress broadsides and the history behind the medium. Her lecture will take place at the art center on Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m.

The art center, located at 1910 East 15th Ave., is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information, visit mkartcenter.org or call 345-1571.
