Hockey seeking to finish 2007 strong

The Ducks play the last two games of 2007 as part of a four-game I-5 Cup series against Washington

Oregon's club hockey team has enjoyed a successful season up to this point. With two games left before winter break, the Ducks don't plan on changing that. Oregon will play Washington (12-3) on Friday and Saturday at the Lane County Ice Arena at 7 p.m. in what is the first half of the four-game I-5 Cup series.

Members of the Oregon volleyball team dressed up for the occasion. They gathered in the Stadium Club at Autzen Stadium. Food and drinks lined one side of the room. The televisions were tuned to ESPNU for the official announcement of the teams receiving bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Title IX celebration to showcase societal progress

The legislation, which banned gender discrimination in athletics and academics, was passed in 1972

Bev Smith holds a first-hand perspective on the impact of Title IX. She was one of the first female athletes to play on scholarship at Oregon. Smith, now the women's basketball coach, and a collection of other speakers will celebrate tonight the 35th anniversary of the legislation's passing at the Stadium Club at Autzen Stadium.
