	Enjoy freedom? Thank the United States Armed Forces In my opinion \| Conservatively Speaking by Nik Antovich A popular bumper sticker here in Eugene confidently declares, "War is not the answer!" At a younger age I would have associated myself with this ideology. After all, nobody wants war, an event that can be characterized in two words: death and destruction. Populations around the world posit that war = bad, and peace = good.
	Colbert's appeal underscores seriousness of political crisis In my opinion \| All I Remember Is... by Matt Petryni Stephen Colbert's short-lived campaign for the presidency, despite its obvious shortfall of being a joke, did surprisingly well in college circles, as Colbert himself bragged that his Facebook group surpassed that of actual candidate Barack Obama virtually overnight.

	Men should not be ignored as victims of domestic violence Letter to the Editor It was misleading, sexist, and unfair to male victims of domestic violence, for Lauren Zavrel to refer to victims only as "women" in the article, "Domestic violence victims interact on new Web site" (ODE, Nov. 5). Even if male victims were the minority, that wouldn't justify ignoring them.
