The Summer Senate met Thursday to take care of some financial business. The Senate allocated $125 to the Multicultural Center to create a summer work study position.

MCC Programs Adviser Steve Morozumi said he needed the money so he could "get some work done this summer," explaining that the MCC has been inundated with requests for training and other participation in coming events.

The Women's Law Forum came to request a food holding release in the amount of $48 for an event aimed at incoming first-year law students. The event is open to the entire University.

Representatives from Childcare Subsidy asked the Senate to move some money around within the program's budget because they overspent their subsidy line item, but had money left in payroll. The Senate moved a total of $2,392 into the subsidy line item to offset any deficit.

The next Senate meeting will be Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. in the EMU Board Room.

The Senate may be reached by calling (541) 346-3749 or by e-mail at senate@uoregon.edu.
