Breaking down intolerance

The University's Bias Response Team advocates for students who are the victims of bias and discrimination, and provides solutions and support for those who need them

In 1999, students concerned with issues surrounding diversity and bias at the University staged a sit-in at Johnson Hall. One of the group's demands was the creation of a "Bias Response Team." Since its creation, the Bias Response Team, which is run out of the Office of Student Life, has been an advocate for students who feel they are targets of bias.

Legislators allocate $77 million to higher ed

Oregon legislators allocated a large portion of the May forecast, the final estimates of money available to include in the 2007-09 biennium budget, to post-secondary education. The revised Oregon Legislature Co-chairs' budget allocated $77 million of the available $180.

Hamilton's Senate removal will be reconsidered

Court to re-examine former Sen. president's alleged violations

A motion filed by former Student Senate President Sara Hamilton to have her removal from the Senate reconsidered has been granted by the ASUO Constitution Court. The ASUO Constitution Court ruled Friday that because Hamilton said she did not receive a copy of the original grievance, the court will rehear the case May 24.

Snowboarders, skiiers and snow will blanket the lawn at the Bean Housing Complex at 15th and Agate Street this Thursday beginning at 3 p.m., as riders attempt to show off their skills and win a $500 cash purse in the UO Rail Jam. Four dumptrucks of snow will be hauled onto campus from Mt.
