This year the ASUO Student Senate arguably has more responsibility on its hands than ever before. Student government always has money to allocate; this year it has more than $10 million. The Parents Television Council, the nanny state-loving organization opposed to "television indecency," is apparently above reproach. First, it wants to pressure Congress, advertisers and the FCC to excise "offensive" programming from television "to ensure that children are not constantly assaulted by images of sex, violence and profanity on television and in other media.

Recently, the Cardinals won the World Series. They played against a team with similar players, management and equipment. But you know who won also? Major League Baseball. You see, it doesn't matter who wins the World Series every year to MLB, as long as the teams are playing by their rules, MLB always wins.

Students shouldn't put up with police harassment at games

I was present at the game on Saturday, against Washington, and I had a run in with the cops that was way above what should have happened. My brother was visiting and I had gotten him a student ticket. I got into the game, went over to the gate, and passed my student ID through the gate so he could use it.
