Pacific-10 Conference schools are nearing the all-time national championship mark for NCAA team championships in a single academic year. So far Pac-10 teams have won 13 championships during the 2007-08 year, which is one short of the record 14 that the Pac-10 set in 1996-97.

The conference has won 13 of 42 (41 percent) NCAA titles while the other major Football Bowl Series conferences have 15 titles combined, with the Big Ten Conference winning five of those.

Three sports remain for the Pac-10 to break the record: Baseball and men's and women's track.

The Pac-10 is the only conference to win 10 or more championships in one year and this year was the fifth time the conference has met or exceeded that number.

The NCAA title teams: Oregon (men's cross country), Arizona (men's and women's swimming), Arizona State (softball, men's and women's indoor track), California (men's water polo), Stanford (women's cross country), UCLA (men's golf, women's tennis and water polo), USC (women's golf and soccer).
