Oregon Daily Emerald: What is your class load like this term?

Jeremiah Masoli: I'm taking three classes: an art class, business 101 and astronomy.

ODE: Which is your favorite?

JM: Astronomy. I've just always liked science and learning about the planets and exploring and stuff like that.

ODE: Have you decided on a major yet?

JM: Sociology.

ODE: Any thoughts on what you might do with that?

JM: No, not really. I'm also minoring in business so we'll see where it takes me.

ODE: Who do you room with right now?

JM: Simi (Toeina) and Fenuki (Tupou)

ODE: What's that like?

JM: We always joke around about everything. Those guys are real cool and we play video games a lot.

ODE: PS3, Wii or Xbox 360?

JM: 360, yep, online Halo.

ODE: Who's the best?

JM: Fenuki, by far Fenuki. He's a baller.

ODE: What other kind of things do you do for fun outside of football and school?

JM: I go to the movies with my girlfriend or my family. This next off-season I really want to go out and explore Oregon and all the beautiful things Mother Nature has to offer, like snowboarding and stuff like that.

ODE: You have a girlfriend up here?

JM: Yeah, I do. She came up from San Francisco.

ODE: So you knew her at City College?

JM: Yeah, she's up here going to Lane now.

ODE: Probably not much time for a romantic relationship right now, is there?

JM: Right, right.

ODE: Any pre-game routines you go through to get ready?

JM: Just listening to music and stuff like that. I listen to a lot of rap. I always listen to reggae to help calm me down before the game, then I listen to gospel rap right before the game to get me pumped up, but at the same time to remind myself why I'm here.

ODE: Are you a pretty religious person?

JM: Yes.

ODE: Where do you go to church here in Eugene?

JM: Jubilee World Outreach with pastor Keith Jenkins over at Willamette High School.

ODE: How are you enjoying your first year of Division I football?

JM: It's been fast. I remember when I first got here in the summer, not knowing what to expect. I was just trying to keep my hopes up and all that good stuff. Now we've got one game left and it's crazy. This year's been a lot of ups and downs, and now that we're in the position to go to the Holiday Bowl, I'm just trying to capitalize on it.
